PROPERTY OWNERS RESPONSIBLE FOR SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL

The City of Latrobe is issuing a reminder to business and property owners of their responsibility to remove snow and ice from sidewalks in front of and alongside all properties in the City.

Due to the severity of the past few weeks’ weather, and the low temperatures, conventional methods of snow/ice removal have not been effective.

The City is asking for property owners to attempt to create at least a pathway for safe passage of emergency personnel if needed as well as for mail, and newspaper delivery.

Snow cannot be placed on the street but may be piled onto curbs and planter strip areas.

As always, persons who suffer from heart or other medical conditions should refrain from performing the removal themselves.

Those persons should request assistance from relatives, neighbors, or friends or hire a snow removal company to complete the work.
