Local governments in Pennsylvania are authorized to impose a variety of local taxes, such as the earned income tax and the real property tax. Employers are required to withhold from their employees earned income and local services taxes imposed by municipalities and school districts.
OFFICE HOURS:Like most of City Hall except for major National Holidays the City of Latrobe Tax Revenue Department regular office hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. However, due to staffing limitations the office may be closed at other times during the regular work week.
LOCATION:The office is located in the City of Latrobe's Municipal Building, 901 Jefferson St., Latrobe, PA 15650.
The City of Latrobe Tax Revenue Department collects:
IMPORTANT DATES:City and County Real estate tax bills are mailed at the end of February. If the bill is paid by April 30 a 2% Discount is applied. The period from May 1 to June 30 the bill is to be paid at “Face” value. A 10% penalty is added to the bill for those paid after July 1.
School Real Estate Taxes bills are mailed at the end of July and can be paid at a 2% discount if paid before September 30. The “Face” value amount is till November 30, and a 10% penalty is added December 1.
After December 31, all unpaid Real Estate Taxes are retuned to Westmoreland County Tax Claim Bureau.
INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS:Payment plans can be set up for school real estate taxes. Residents have the option of making 3 equal payments on school real estate taxes only (not for City or County). The first payment must be made by September 30th or you lose the option to make payments. The remaining payments are due at the end of October for the 2nd and the end of November for the 3rd.
OTHER SERVICES:We also provide Tax certification letters. The fee is $15.00 for three years. In addition, we charge $5.00 for duplicate real estate tax bills.
